We’re on the lookout for an energetic, outgoing, and motivated Assistant Venue Manager to join our team at the QUT Guild, supporting operations across our flagship venues: Botanic Bar at Gardens Point and Grove Bar at Kelvin Grove.

🕒 The Schedule:
Full-time (35 hrs/week) with Time Off in Lieu for any extra hours
Primarily evening and closing shifts (Primarily Mon–Fri)
12% Super contribution
Flexibility to work some weekends for private functions and Riverstage events
Typical shifts run from late afternoon to midnight
🔑 Key Responsibilities:
Up front shift management and ability to run shifts independently
Ability to manage labour on the floor throughout the shift
Lead and support our amazing bar team during shifts
Coach and provide feedback to team members
Make sure we’re always compliant with RSA and licensing laws
Full stock controls including ordering and stock take and keep wastage low
Create a welcoming vibe for patrons and ensure top-tier service
Help coordinate and deliver exciting events and venue activations
Be the go-to person for the smooth running of evening operations

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 1 year previous experience in the above or similar roles.
🚨 What You’ll Need:
An Approved Manager’s License (RMVL) or willingness to obtain one
RSA Statement of Attainment
Previous experience in a management within a fast-paced hospitality venue
Strong bar operations knowledge – from cash handling and stock management to delivering top-notch customer service
A cool head under pressure and a natural leader's confidence
First Aid/CPR (or willingness to obtain)
